I’m sure you’ve all been waiting with bated breath for my personal take on the Oscars.
I spent last night doing some work on the computer and reading, then went to bed early. When I saw today’s newspaper, I realized that they were on last night. That might give you a clue as to how closely I follow these things.
I didn’t see any of the films nominated for major awards. I never even heard of the film which won Best Picture (or rather, I probably saw the review in our paper when it came out and it made no impression on me). I like Helen Mirren, so I’m glad she won.
I did see two of the three films nominated for Best Animated Feature, and must say that I disagree on the one award I can comment on with any knowledge. I did not particularly care for “Happy Feet,” but was quite pleased when Santa brought me the DVD of “Cars” for Christmas. I would have voted for that one.
And there you have it, folks. Tune in again next year.

Oh, right! Cars! I thought I’d only seen Little Miss Sunshine, but I’ve seen Cars a gazillion times.
I watched the first 20 minutes — Ellen’s monologue.
I really don’t pay much attention either!
I watched only to see Ellen, I always get a laugh out of her humor. I thought the speeches I saw were quite boring…of coures I did fall asleep at 8:15 that night, so I didn’t even get to see the good awards!
Not having a television, I didn’t watch. I’ve seen Little Miss Sunshine and loved Alan Arkin’s portrayal in it so I was happy to hear of his award. I haven’t seen much else. I’m feeling pretty behind being as much of a movie ho as I am!
And I should have KNOWN you’d be the first to visit me. Thank you dear. Smooches.
