Hot Mama

Would you believe that the air conditioning is still out?  The manufacturer reshipped the part, and it arrived Friday.  Broken again.  They’re blaming the shipping company.  I think they need to take a look at their packaging.  The new plan is to ship the part on one of their own trucks, because apparently they will care more and handle it more carefully.  Which may be true, given that it’s a pretty expensive piece of equipment.

We’ve actually been lucky so far.  It was warm, but the humidity stayed low.  Thanks to a lot of ceiling fans, we stayed pretty comfortable.  But our luck is running out as the official start of summer approaches.

Of course, sometimes I can’t be sure if the problem is really the heat and humidity or if it’s just me

Update:  I came home from an appointment this afternoon and was moderately pleased to see Mr. B.’s car in the driveway and realize that he was home early.  I was, however, ecstatic when I saw the HVAC tech’s van!  Yes, indeedy, we are once more cool.  Well, not cool in a sense that BD would recognize, but….cool.

As I read your entry, I’m here getting cool again. Our A/C went out last Friday. Thank goodness we had a cool weekend, but yesterday was hot. The A/C guy just left after replacing the motor. I’m glad we didn’t have to wait for parts like you. I’m a wimp. I love the A/C.

Can’t believe it! Have you called anyone to give them a piece of your mind? And possibly some packing tips? I’m with Marie, you should be getting something for free!

Woo hoo! We had record breaking heat here Sunday but we were at the beach. We did come home to a dead refrigerator and some foul smelling food, but my husband unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in and now, so far, it is WORKING!

Congrats on being cool again. ;)

Ugh, we live in New Jersey and can’t imagine living in the early days before air-conditioning. Stinky times, my friend - sounds as if yours are smelling much better, now!
