Transition Time

Although this is still his official permanent residence, HS hasn’t been home for more than a few weeks at a time in over three years.

Much as we love having him around, his visits can be a bit of a trial.

While I have never claimed to be a good housekeeper, my clutter is as nothing compared to his.  Since he’s always waiting to pack up for the next step while he’s here (back to college, off to travel for his summer job, etc.), he never really settles in.  He just dumps his stuff and works around it.

Now he’s about to start graduate school.  It’s close enough that he could live at home.  But he’s not planning to.  I’m thinking that this is a good thing.

It looks like he’s found an apartment, but we are waiting for final word that his application has been accepted.  We are so optimistic about it that I helped him pick out paint yesterday.

So, if you’ll excuse me, I think I’ll go wait by the phone.

UPDATE: Woo-hoo; he’s in!!!

Yay! Eric got the apt! LOL, I should take a picture of Morgan’s room, and she isn’t just dropping by, it’s what her room looks like 90% of the time! Have fun painting!

Whatever you do, don’t show his landlord that picture. They might send him back.

Woo hoo! Glad he got the apartment. Hey, close to home but not too close is a good thing. ;)

I just tell Nick to keep a path clear in case of fire. My mom used to go in and clean mine. I keep wondering when THAT gene will rear its ugly head. Nevah?
