Get a Clue, People!

Apparently there are still people out there who believe that (insert name of just about any company here) can somehow track their forwarded emails and will send them a gift certificate for sending on an email about their company.

Just in case you are one of these suckers non-techno-savvy people, this is not only not true, it’s not even possible.  In case I didn’t get enough negatives in there to completely confuse you, your boss may know where you emails are going, but other companies don’t.

So enough with the forwards, okay?

I relentlessly send snopes.com links debunking those things back to the sender. Eventually they trickle off, I’m not sure because they finally get it or they’re mad at me for showing them “the truth” and have deleted me from their fwd lists. But either way, I’m happy.

I get silly forwards like that all the time. I have sent links to snopes.com too, lately for supposedly kidnapped or missing kids. So far no one has gotten mad at me, but hopefully they’ll start checking before sending that stuff on!

It’s crazy… it’s been a while since I’ve seen one, but they still do make the rounds. Amazing.

I hate forwards of almost every kind. I have a sister that never calls or emails, but I get 5 forwards from her every week… Dang annoying is what it is!

Ok, thanks for letting me vent.
