Like many Americans, I wonder why the cost of postage keeps going up.
Yes, I know pretty much all prices rise, with the exception of high tech gadgets (though HDTV is still beyond our budget).
But it seems as though by the time I can figure out how much a first class stamp costs, the USPS raises rates again.
Yesterday, my letter carrier delivered a clue, right in my mailbox.
I received a large white envelopes from the Post Office, with “WE CARE” in great big letters on the back. Following was a 5 paragraph explanation-cum-apology for damaging a piece of my mail.
I am glad the USPS owns up to its mistakes. I appreciate the fact that they try to deliver even the damaged mail.
But seriously? I never would have been the wiser if they had just pitched that little torn-up bulk mail catalog in the trash.
