Back to School Time

Yup, school starts here in less than two weeks.

We have the supply list. It’s much longer than it was back in my day (a few spiral notebooks, some pens, pencils and erasers. Maybe a compass if you were taking geometry). BD loves nothing better than back-to-school shopping. Unfortunately, she doesn’t feel the same way about school itself, but I digress.

Last week, we hit the store with the big red bullseye. By the time we had made it to the seasonal department at the back corner of the store and selected one 5-pack of glue sticks, BD had made me so crazy that I left the store. She eventually followed.

She still needs the supplies. I am tempted to go buy them myself, but she will make my life miserable as only a 13 year old girl can, so I suppose we will try again.

Unless one of you would like to take her?

I took Miss C to both Wal-Hell and the Big Red Bullseye yesterday and started to regret it when she spied a belt she HAD TO HAVE and I refused to buy it.

I’m on a mission to find some sort of folders and now I think the description has got to be a type-o because they are nowhere to be found. I even hit Office Max and Rite Aid today at lunch.

I’m trying to remember if the Boy ever actually came along for the school supply shopping. I’m thinking he just didn’t care, at least not until he was old enough for me to hand over cash so he could shop for himself.

I think that was 7th grade…but we lived on an air force base and it was safe to cut him loose in the BX. I’m pretty sure I would have been arrested for some sort of abuse if I’d had to go shopping with him past age 13…

Sure, send her over. It’s not so long ago that I went through this with miss AAH so I’ve got it sussed. Plus I bet she’d be on her best behavior with someone else.

My eldest just turned nine and I live in fear of the teen years. Right now, she still thinks I’m great.
